Indore, September 2, 2026: In a significant initiative to strengthen design education and broaden academic opportunities for students, the Institute of Design, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Design (NID), Bhopal today.

The MoU marks an important step towards establishing a stronger framework for academic collaboration, knowledge sharing and exchange of expertise and experience between the two institutions. The partnership is aimed at providing students with enhanced opportunities for academic as well as practical and experiential learning in the field of design.

The collaboration will open up possibilities for a wide range of joint academic activities, expert lectures, workshops, faculty interactions, student interactions, design projects and other academic initiatives. These engagements are expected to create a vibrant platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences.

Through the partnership, students of the Institute of Design, DAVV, will have opportunities to engage with contemporary dimensions of design, emerging practices and innovative working methodologies. Exposure to such developments will help students connect classroom learning with practical experiences and gain a broader understanding of the rapidly evolving design landscape.

The MoU is also expected to encourage greater faculty and student interaction between the two institutions. Joint workshops, lectures and design projects can provide students with opportunities to learn from experts, explore new perspectives and participate in collaborative academic activities.

The partnership assumes particular significance as it connects students of DAVV’s Institute of Design with the expertise and academic ecosystem of a prestigious national-level design institution. The initiative will further strengthen the Institute of Design, DAVV’s efforts to provide students with contemporary, practice-oriented and experiential design education. The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Singhai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, and Prof. Vidya Rakesh, Director, National Institute of Design, Bhopal.
