Indore, 1 Sepetember 2026.Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore is organizing the Internal Hackathon 2026 as part of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 initiative. The event will provide an exciting platform for students to showcase their creativity, technical skills, innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities by developing solutions for real-world challenges.

The Internal Hackathon 2026 will be held on Saturday, 12th September 2026. Students from all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes of DAVV, across all departments and disciplines, are invited to participate and transform their innovative ideas into meaningful and impactful solutions.

The hackathon encourages students to follow the spirit of “Ideate • Innovate • Implement • Impact”. Participants will get an opportunity to think beyond conventional classroom learning, collaborate with fellow students and apply their knowledge to address practical challenges faced by society, industry and the nation.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is open to all UG and PG students of DAVV. Students from every discipline are encouraged to participate. Each participating team must consist of 6 members, and at least one girl participant is compulsory in every team.

Explore Diverse SIH Themes

Students can develop innovative solutions across a wide range of Smart India Hackathon themes, including Smart Automation, Robotics & Drones, Heritage & Culture, Clean & Green Technology, Healthcare & Biotechnology and several other emerging areas. This diversity of themes gives students from engineering, technology and other academic disciplines an opportunity to contribute according to their interests and expertise.

The hackathon is not merely a coding competition. It is an opportunity to identify problems, develop ideas, build prototypes, work as a team and create solutions capable of making a genuine impact. Students with ideas in software, hardware, automation, sustainability, healthcare, cultural preservation and interdisciplinary innovation are strongly encouraged to participate.

Why Should Students Participate?

Participating in a hackathon can be one of the most enriching experiences of student life. It provides an environment where students can learn by doing, experiment fearlessly, collaborate with teammates and convert theoretical knowledge into practical solutions. It also helps participants strengthen essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, creativity, time management and technical problem solving.

More importantly, the Internal Hackathon can serve as a stepping stone for students aspiring to represent DAVV at higher stages of the Smart India Hackathon 2026. Students are therefore encouraged not to wait for a “perfect idea.” A simple observation of a real problem can become the beginning of an innovative solution when supported by teamwork, technology and determination.

Every great innovation begins with a question: “Can this be done better?” Students of DAVV are encouraged to form their teams, identify problems around them and use their knowledge and creativity to build something meaningful. Whether you are an experienced programmer, a designer, a researcher, an electronics enthusiast or simply someone with an innovative idea, there is a place for you in the Hackathon.

Bring your ideas. Challenge your limits. Collaborate, create and innovate. Your idea today could become a solution for tomorrow.
