Indore, 1 September 2026. After achieving an impressive 90% placement rate last year, the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, has now set its sights on achieving 100% placement. To accomplish this goal, the institute is introducing two student-focused initiatives — “Career Disha” and “Career Siddhi” — aimed at strengthening career preparation and making students industry-ready.
The initiatives will particularly focus on students who require additional academic support, technical preparation and career guidance before appearing for campus placements. Around 1,800 students are expected to benefit from these programmes.
IET Director Dr. Pratosh Bansal said that the institute has around 2,200 students across nine B.Tech. programmes. As part of the new placement preparation strategy, around 10 specialised training batches will be formed. Training and mentoring will be provided by industry professionals, experts and IET alumni, helping students understand current industry expectations and prepare accordingly.
Career Disha: Mentorship by Industry Experts and Alumni
Under the Career Disha initiative, every participating student will be connected with an alumnus or industry expert as a mentor. The mentor will interact with students regularly and guide them in choosing the right career direction, improving professional skills and preparing effectively for employment opportunities.
The institute plans to associate nearly 1,000 industry experts and alumni with the initiative. Each mentor will conduct at least one mentoring session every month, enabling students to receive practical insights and career guidance directly from experienced professionals.
Career Siddhi: Eight Training Sessions in One Month
The second initiative, Career Siddhi, will provide intensive placement-oriented training through eight sessions conducted over one month. The classes will primarily be organised on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing students to participate without affecting their regular academic schedule.
The programme will focus especially on students who need additional preparation in areas such as technical skills, group discussions, HR interviews and résumé building. The objective is to improve their confidence, communication skills and overall employability before they participate in campus recruitment drives.
Steady Improvement in IET Placements
IET’s placement performance has shown consistent improvement over the past three academic sessions. The institute recorded a placement rate of 85% in 2022-23 and 2023-24, which increased to 90% in 2024-25. The placement figures are presented below:
| Academic Session | Students Placed | Placement Percentage |
|---|---|---|
| 2022-23 | 380 | 85% |
| 2023-24 | 390 | 85% |
| 2024-25 | 400 | 90% |
Towards the Goal of 100% Placement
With the introduction of Career Disha and Career Siddhi, IET aims to further strengthen its placement ecosystem and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The combination of structured mentorship, weekend training and direct interaction with professionals and alumni is expected to provide students with focused preparation for recruitment processes.
The initiatives reflect IET-DAVV’s continued emphasis on career development, employability and industry readiness. By providing targeted support to students and involving its strong alumni and industry network, the institute is working towards its ambitious goal of 100% placement and developing industry-ready graduates.
