Indore, August 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, has announced the launch of “Lokmanch”, an innovative platform designed to celebrate creativity, talent, cultural expression and individuality among students.
With the inspiring theme “A Stage to Express. A Space to Belong.”, Lokmanch aims to provide students with an open and inclusive stage where they can showcase their artistic abilities beyond the conventional academic environment. The initiative has been conceived as a platform where every creative soul can find a voice and an opportunity to perform.
A Platform for Diverse Talents
Lokmanch brings together a wide spectrum of creative expressions, including poetry, storytelling, Indian classical and English singing, instrumental performances, regional folk dance, mono acting, mimicry, IKS (Indian Knowledge Systems) talks and live canvas painting.
The initiative seeks to encourage students to explore their talents, build confidence and connect with fellow students through art and culture. By bringing different forms of expression onto a common stage, Lokmanch also promotes appreciation for India's diverse cultural heritage.
Every Friday at IET-DAVV
As announced by NSS IET-DAVV, Lokmanch will be organised every Friday from 5:00 PM onwards at the Back Stage, M-Block, IET-DAVV. The platform is open to NSS volunteers as well as all students, making it an inclusive initiative for the entire IET-DAVV student community.
The programme is being organised by NSS IET-DAVV in collaboration with Pratyaksh, adding further strength to the initiative's objective of providing students with meaningful opportunities for creative engagement.
Recognising and Celebrating Talent
A distinctive feature of Lokmanch is its emphasis on regular recognition of performers. Performers will have opportunities to earn recognition through categories such as Gold, Silver and Bronze Performer, Rising Star, Audience Choice and Consistent Performer.
Selected winners will also be featured on the official NSS social media platform, providing students with an opportunity to gain wider recognition for their creative accomplishments.
Lokmanch Leaderboard 2026–27
To make participation more engaging, NSS IET-DAVV has introduced the Lokmanch Leaderboard 2026–27. Participants can earn points based on their performances and participation:
Winner – 10 points
Runner-up – 7 points
Second Runner-up – 5 points
Participation – 2 points
The leaderboard will add a healthy spirit of participation and consistency while encouraging students to return to the stage and continuously develop their talents. The top performers of every semester will receive certificates, special recognition and felicitation during major NSS events.
Express, Inspire and Evolve
Lokmanch represents more than a regular cultural programme. At its core, the initiative seeks to create a space where students can express themselves without hesitation, inspire others through their talents and evolve with every performance.
For the students of IET-DAVV, the initiative offers an opportunity to step beyond classrooms and laboratories and explore another important dimension of student life—creativity, culture, confidence and community.
With its message of “Express • Inspire • Evolve,” Lokmanch is poised to become a vibrant weekly platform at IET-DAVV, bringing together students from diverse interests and backgrounds and giving their voices a stage.
IET-DAVV continues to encourage initiatives that nurture not only technical and academic excellence but also the creativity, confidence and holistic development of its students.
