Indore, July 7: The Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), is set to witness a significant phase of academic and infrastructure development following the University's approval of an ambitious expansion plan. The project includes the construction of two additional floors in the IET building, creation of more than ten modern classrooms, and the introduction of new academic programmes.

The expansion work is expected to commence in January 2027 and is likely to be completed within 8–9 months. With the addition of 11–12 smart classrooms, the institute will be able to accommodate approximately 500 more students, substantially easing the existing shortage of classroom space.

In addition to strengthening infrastructure, DAVV plans to introduce two new academic branches while increasing the intake capacity in three existing programmes. The initiative aims to meet the growing demand for engineering education and provide students with wider opportunities in emerging disciplines. The institute also plans to launch new diploma and certificate programmes aligned with industry requirements.

Presently, IET offers 18 academic programmes with an enrolment exceeding 2,500 students. The institute is supported by a strong team of more than 100 regular and visiting faculty members. The proposed expansion is expected to further enhance the institute's academic environment and strengthen its position as one of Central India's leading engineering institutions.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Pratosh Bansal, Director, IET DAVV, expressed confidence that the expansion will greatly benefit students by improving academic infrastructure and enabling the institute to meet future educational demands. The initiative reflects DAVV's continued commitment to providing quality technical education through modern facilities and innovative academic programmes.
